As I spent most of the day in airports and plane, there is not too much to say today. I left Madrid in the morning and landed in my Airbnb in Athens at around 7 pm. I am living with a very nice guy in a downtown neighborhood about 15 minutes walking-distance from the Acropolis.
My first impression of this city/country is that it is different from what I expected. I didn’t expect it to differ very much from north-western European cities but it does. I haven’t been to the center yet but what I saw walking around in the direct surroundings seems much poorer than I thought it would be. Maybe tomorrow I will correct myself.
First impressions: There are lots of cats (even in the flat). There are no zebra crossings (I think they were there some day but they washed off and nobody repainted them). Pedestrian walks are ridiculously small and might just break off unexpectedly. There is still lots of people going by motorbike without wearing a helmet. There is antique Greek stuff standing around everywhere, just like that.

P.S. 2: Sorry for possible grammar mistakes I’m making in these posts; If I want to do this, I can’t be worrying about past tenses all the time…

Sounds lovelly, a real adventure in a place that takes you 50 years ago to what you could find here. A very instructive experience, I am very corious about the center and tourist areas.
Have a nice day!
