This morning started very quiet and the hole day went on like that. I got up late and had breakfast at the terrace with Jon. Everyone left afterwards and we stayed there for a little longer, both a little tired of rushing around and feeling the necessity not to be too exhausted for the nightbus this evening.
We checked out at 11 and started walking through the streets and visited a bookshop, the museum of contemporary art and the museum of Oaxacan painters. All three things were very interesting and beautiful – the beauty including not only the pieces of art but also the buildings and spaces.

After this, we strolled around, trying to enter the botanical garden but failing. We bought some stuff at the artesanal market and wandered around a little longer. While doing so, the saleswoman came running behind us 3 times because she had always forgotten to pack parts of what Jon had bought at her stand.

In our wandering, we stepped into a absolutely stunning patio with workshops of artists and talked to a very interesting old man for a while (while I was eaten alive by mosquitoes).

My plan had been to eat an Elote (corn) for lunch but when we got hungry, it turned out that there are no elotes on the streets before 5pm (then you can find them every 5 meters…). In the end I had a bag of chips with an avocado and we sat down in a very nice, artsy cafe with a bookshop and a relaxing and beautiful patio.

We went back to the hostel at 6, after buying little stamps of some useful saints and virgins (just in case) and packed up our stuff. We left Oaxaca by nightbus (the most luxurious one that serves this part of the country) at 8 pm and will be in San Cristóbal de las Casas at 8 am tomorrow morning.

P.S.: arrived well and without any kidnapping or robbery.
