We got up exactly as planned today, had breakfast and left at exactly the time we had planned to leave; Destination Freiburg. We had purchased tickets for the Körperwelten (Body Worlds) exhibition which is displayed at Freiburg’s fair this summer.

We arrived at 11 and stayed inside for at least 2 hours, enjoying the interesting exhibits which consist of real bodies prepared to display different parts of the human anatomy. It was very interesting and fascinating. After getting out of the fair, we took the tram to the city center. I am thinking that I should maybe revise my image of Germany as a total and reduce it to certain parts of it. Freiburg is amazing and beautiful and alternative and green and hippie and full of interesting stuff and seems like a really good place to live at. For starters, it was really easy to find gluten free food. We went to a burger place where I could eat everything but the buns and had a delicious homemade burger with goat cheese and fig chutney with fries. On our way through the city after lunch, an amazing ice cream place with gluten free and vegan options just showed up in front of us without even looking for it.

As the sky was turning increasingly black, we made our way back towards the car and drove back to Tom’s place after walking through the city a little longer.
Although we hadn’t walked too much today, the usual afternoon-stupidity kicked in pretty hard today and people started to do all sorts of weird stuff with me and the blankets of the living room. Only our desire to eat something broke the cycle and Tom prepared some chanterelles for us.
